Lárus Karl Ingason

Lárus Karl is an experienced professional photographer and  head instructor at PicTours. Lárus is very knowledgeable about  Icelandic nature and has worked as a tour guide. He has years of teaching experience in photography workshops and photo safaris in Iceland.

Lárus Karl graduated from the Sven Winquist Photography school in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1987 and has since then been among the highest ranked photographers in Iceland.  His specialty is nature photography but he has also built a successful career in advertising photography and publishing his own books.

His photos have been published in a number of books covering the Icelandic nature, Icelandic cookbooks and books on various other topics. For the last few years Lárus has combined his photography skills with his second biggest passion, fly fishing. Since 2002 he has published 4 books on that topic, covering the best fishing areas in Iceland among with beautiful macro photos of fishing flies.

Lárus has held many exhibitions both in Iceland and abroad. He also frequently travels with the Icelandic president Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson to document his visits abroad. See images by Lárus in his personal gallery
